About SERCO
SERCO provides employment assistance and occupational job training to Cook County residents, leading to employment in in-demand occupations and industries that offer wages supporting self-sufficiency. This workforce development center offers eligible individuals labor market counseling, career coaching, interview skills training, and resume development, with the goal of securing employment through job referrals and placement, job club activities, and hiring fairs. Eligible participants may also receive paid occupational training in approved high-demand occupations.

The term “WIOA adult” refers to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s program for adults, which provides career services, job search assistance, and job training to help eligible individuals find employment and advance in their careers. It is a core component of the public workforce system designed to connect workers with employers and improve workforce development.

Provides employment, training, resume’ building, job search, job referrals, introduction to employers through hiring events/job club, financial literacy, supportive services which include but not limited to housing referrals, clothing assistance, hygiene, and transportation and so much more.
The Dislocated Worker program supports individuals who have lost employment due to layoffs, economic shifts, or industry changes by providing career and training services that help them re-enter the workforce quickly.
Priority is given to adults aged 18 and older in Cook County who are low-income, receiving public assistance, or are basic skills deficient. Eligible participants must meet WIOA dislocated worker criteria, including job loss or pending separation, eligibility for unemployment benefits, and limited likelihood of returning to their previous occupation, as well as standard eligibility requirements such as work authorization, county residency, and Selective Service compliance.

This Partnership surveyed partners and stakeholders and identified the need for clearer branding, a stronger voice, and a more user friendly website. In response, a refreshed website and new digital branding, including a new logo, have been launched, with physical materials to be updated later in the year. This program is funded by the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership through a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration.. Solar Panel Training Program
A thirteen week training program to become a certified solar panel installer. This program is Monday and Wednsdays from 9am - 1pm. We provide supportive services, uniforms, tools, and job readiness training. Participants obtain a partcipation certificate and NABCEP PV certificate.
Ages 18 and up, selective service compliant, authorized to work in the US, lives in Cook county, recieves government asssistance, is part of the foster care system, lives in a enviornmental justice community, and had justice involvement.
