Vocational Training Programs
The Future Energy Job Act program at Central States SER aims to introduce participants to solar photovoltaics technology. The FEJA program at Central States SER is designed to familiarize participants with solar photovoltaics technology. The goal of this course is to equip successful graduates to undertake the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NAPCEP) Photovoltaics Associates exam. Our program is tailored to individuals encountering particular obstacles in their lives, who are based in Cook County, and are aged 18 or above. These challenges might encompass residing in environmentally degraded areas, receiving government aid like LINK or TANF, being part of the foster care system, or having a background entwined with the justice system.
JTED
The JTED grant aims to enhance the workforce by providing funding for training programs that improve employability. The industrial maintenance technician training program, equips individuals with essential skills for maintaining and repairing industrial equipment. Adults (18+) who are authorized to work in the United States, live in the Cook County area, unemployed, and are low-income are eligible for this program. Individuals, through this program, were able to gain their OSHA-10 card, NFPA/Arc Flash Certification, Certificate of Completion and were eligible to gain their Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician(CMRT) certificate, if they pass the exam.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Program
13 Week training program to become a certified industrial maitenance technician. The training consists of hands-on and classroom learning. During the 13 week program individuals will be able to get their OSHA-10 certification, NFPA certification, and will be allowed to take the nationally recognized CMRT exam. Program is from 9am-1pm Monday through Friday. Provide job readiness training, transportation services, uniforms, and tools.
Ages 18 and up, QCT-DIA COVID Impact, Authorized to work in the US, Selective Service Compliant, Live in Illinois, Unemployed or received termination notice within last 90 days, receive or is eligible to receive public assistance.
Solar Panel Training Program
A thirteen week training program to become a certified solar panel installer. This program is Monday and Wednsdays from 9am - 1pm. We provide supportive services, uniforms, tools, and job readiness training. Participants obtain a partcipation certificate and NABCEP PV certificate.
Ages 18 and up, selective service compliant, authorized to work in the US, lives in Cook county, recieves government asssistance, is part of the foster care system, lives in a enviornmental justice community, and had justice involvement.
