OJT reimbursement

"On The Job Training" OJT is a reimbursement program for employers for new eligible hires it provides hands-on training to up-skill specific skills. They have to be full-time positions (30+ hours per week) and be long-term positions as well as W2 employees. The employer has to pay a minimum of $14/Hr or match the minimum wage in the City. The employer will also have to comply with proving pay stubs for the OJTs to calculate their reimbursement. If the company has 50 or fewer employees it will get 75% reimbursement or if 50 or more employees it will get 50% reimbursement.

Ages 18 and over, receiving or Exhausted Unemployment Benefits, Low Income, Receives Food Stamps, Second Chance Citizens or Skills deficient. They have to be Authorized to work in the US, A Resident of Cook County, and a male born after 1960 will have to be Selective Service Compliance.

Construction Works Powered by the Illinois Tollway

ConstructionWorks Powered by the Illinois Tollway is an innovative program designed to create a qualified pipeline of diverse men and women ready to enter careers in the heavy highway and related construction industry and Trades. The program provides Free Services for Job Seekers. Career Coaches Can Help You, Assess abilities and interests, Develop career plans, Learn skills to be successful, Find jobs and apprenticeships in the building trades, Access other employment opportunities and training referrals, and Ongoing retention support. We can help pay past Dues, reimbursement for Work tools, Attire, Boots, and other Fees.

Individual participants must be 18 years of age or older, Eligible to work in the United States, Unemployed, underemployed, or seeking career growth in the construction industry, Have a GED/HS Diploma or Higher, and a Drivers L. 

CBOC

The CBOC provides employers with a central point of access for local talent that face barriers to employment. We formed the CBO Collective to increase employment opportunities to serve Chicago’s South and West Side residents by aligning corporate demand with a collective workforce development approach. It is a collaboration within 16 agencies helping connect job seekers to employment.

Anyone looking for employment can receive help from a job seeker. 

Youth Employment Services

Provides Walk-in youth with assistance on crafting an effective resume as well as conduct mock interviews, and offer feedback to refine their interview skills. For youth enrolled in WIOA, we provide one on one services where they can be referred to employers with exisiting partnership. We also provide youth with guidence to effectively search for job opportunities and increase their visibility to potential employers. For youth enrolled in Opportunty works, we assist in placing youth in internship sites with partnered employers.

16-24 years of age, Out of school, Low income, basic skills, single parenting, authorized to work in the US.
