Violence Prevention
Violence Prevtntion Program works with youth refred to SER’s comprehensive initiative to fully develop the potential of youth, SER believes that these young individuals have the ability to become productive and thriving members of society if given the necessary support and resources. VP helps youth identify, pursue and achieve their academic, job and career goals. Here at SER’s programs offer intensive career coaching and case management services, GED classes, job readiness ( Passport to Sucess), work-based learning, transportation, restorative justice, service learning projects, leadership training and much more.
Ages 16 to 24, which are at risk of not transitioning educationally and emotionally successfully into adulthood. SER targets youth from low-income, underserved communities, including many who are ex-offenders and/or gang-affected.
Little Village Youth Safety Network
Central States SER provides an after school program focused on College & Career Readiness to high school students (9th-12th grade) CPS youth residing in Little Village neighborhood. Workshops are facilitated on topics such as: job/career readiness, finacnical literacy,college transistion and vocational training, as well as scholaarship application assistance to increase college participation in students.
High School Students (freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior) CPS enrolled, residing in Little Village neighborhood.
GED & Job Readiness
Free program running 5 days to work with youth in small groups and individually to prepare them for the 4 sections of the GED Exam: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science, and to provide them with Job Readiness Skills.
17 to 24 year old youth without a high school diploma from low-income households in Cook County.
ARPA Illinois Youth Investment Program
AIYIP focuses on helping at-risk youth between the ages of 16 and 24 to find long-term employment within the state. Through individualized case management, youth are provided job-readiness training, 1-to-1 workshops, and career guidance to find employment opportunities that best align with their skills. In connection with the Reconnection Hub, youth are also exposed to additional supportive services available at no-cost to them to help them navigate their career paths.
